Exhibition On the hot side of the Alps - life in times of climate change
The exhibition On the hot side of the Alps - life in times of climate change was prepared by Umanotera, the Slovenian Foundation for Sustainable Development. It shows the consequences of climate change that can be expected in Slovenia if we do not immediately reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. It shows that climate change also poses a serious threat to life in our environment and that there is still time to prevent the worst by taking immediate action. "Tomorrow" may already be too late.

Interactive game Reducing emissions and climate justice
If until recently we thought that climate change was something that did not concern us, this challenge is still present among us today. In any case, it concerns every inhabitant of the Earth, and everyone can do something small in the direction of improvement.

The interactive game Reduction of emissions and climate justice among young people encourages thinking and discussion with the aim of approaching climate neutrality: what is climate justice and my role in it.

The thematic interactive game was created as part of the LIFE IP CARE4CLIMATE project, which, through thematic awareness, education and training, encourages the implementation of measures so that Slovenia will achieve its goals in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Culinary workshop REcept - sustainability according to my taste
The purpose of the workshop is to raise awareness among people to reduce the amount of food thrown away, to prepare their own meals as often as possible and to use high-quality and wholesome foods from local producers when preparing meals, which helps to improve the quality of their lives. The culinary workshop is intended for anyone who wants to learn how to create a healthy and nutritious meal that is both tasty and affordable from food that would most likely end up in the trash.

We will prepare a delicious dessert from buckwheat and seasonal fruit, and find out how versatile old bread can be used. We will also taste all prepared meals.

Sustainable fashion creation workshop and fashion show
In a fun atmosphere, we will create unique fashion creations from used clothes and other waste materials and at the end of the workshop we will present them ourselves at a fashion show, in which the humanoid robot Pepper named Barbara will also participate. You will be able to take the products home and use them to refresh your wardrobe in an environmentally friendly way.

We will transfer fashion trends from the past to the present and thereby empower ourselves and practically test the possibilities of reuse, because the fashion industry, in addition to the oil industry, pollutes our planet the most due to the introduction of harmful chemicals, the destruction of natural resources and the exploitation of labor.

In order to reduce textile waste as much as possible in your households, we invite you to bring an old piece of clothing with you.

Workshop Handmade paper making
In the workshop, we will create handmade paper from cardboard egg cartons using the old method, modern trash and practical technical tricks.
We will be able to tackle many variations:
- different thicknesses (from cardboard to transparency or a thickness that can be printed using a home printer),
- different textures (how do we achieve different reliefs and what is blind printing?)
- with a watermark (uh, how is that done?!)
- in color combinations (without the addition of dyes, only in the colors of the boxes, but with the creation of stencils, with color transitions,...)
- with built-in accessories as desired and your own imagination

Participants are invited to bring egg cartons, newspaper, dried tea scraps, dry coffee grounds, fine saw dust or sewing threads.

Interactive game Sustainable shopping
Sustainable and responsible behavior towards the environment is an important factor in personality development from childhood onwards. When we buy food, various attractive packaging, labels and signs, cute names, and appearance can quickly mislead us into thinking that it is healthy food that is friendly to us and the environment.

So how do you separate healthy food from unhealthy food? Do we know the certificates? How do we know that a product is really organic? In the educational Tehnoštacuna, you will be able to acquire sustainable shopping skills in a fun experiential competition.

Workshop With the interactive educational robot Photon on a sustainable path

Environmental awareness using robotics and modern innovative STEAM approaches to learning and teaching is an important part of preparing students for the future, as it enables greater motivation to acquire new knowledge and experience in the field of sustainable development. Modern technologies engage students, encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and enhance collaboration—all essential skills we need to possess in today's ever-changing world.

Workshop participants will learn about the Photon robot and the basics of controlling the robot in space. Software will be used that allows the robot to be controlled in several ways, either by simply drawing a path with a finger on a tablet or composing programming commands with programming languages. We will explore robotics in an interesting way and connect it with environmental awareness. Participants will assign tasks to the Photon robot on the floor training ground and use the app to guide it along a path where they will have the opportunity to choose between more or less sustainable points. The goal is to bring the robot from the start to the finish line through all sustainable points in the light of the responsible behavior of current generations for future generations.

STEAM workshop of sustainable creative workshops
The sustainable STEAM creative workshop is an interdisciplinary interweaving of environmental awareness and fun practical creation of products from waste materials. Although it is possible to buy almost everything today, children are still very interested in what they create themselves as a product of their own imagination. At the workshop, we will practically test how waste can be an excellent opportunity to develop creativity and strengthen students' STEAM potential. We will learn about different manual skills and technological processes of reusing used textiles, packaging, jewelry, and paper. The workshop stimulates imagination, brings new knowledge for everyday life, and at the same time enables the development of social skills, socializing and environmental awareness. With our joint efforts, we will give old things a terribly cute look and a new life. Everything that the participants will make in the workshop, they will be able to take home. We are sure that after participating in the workshop, the used things will no longer represent just waste, but a limitless (free) possibility of original ways of creation.

A sustainable STEAM creative workshop fosters critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and fosters peer collaboration—all essential skills we need to possess in today's ever-changing world.

Interactive game I calculate my carbon footprint

The simulation exercise of using the carbon calculator will be conducted by the director of the Institute for Health and the Environment, Mr. Tomaž Gorenc. Their carbon calculator was created as part of the Sustainaware project, in collaboration with the Global Footprint Network. Calculator r enables the calculation of an individual's ecological footprint based on the evaluation of his lifestyle with the key purpose of raising awareness for changes towards sustainable behavior on a personal level. The transition to a carbon-free society starts with the individual.

The key to this calculator is that it gives us results at the end with ideas on how to lower our carbon footprint on a personal level.
The Sustainaware project is supported by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment.

Dog etiquette workshop in the city

Awareness workshop on dog etiquette in the city. The urban environment brings many challenges for dogs and their caretakers. It is precisely for this reason that we decided to explore various questions together at the workshop, such as: how to take a walk in the city that will make the dog happy, whether we can go to the store with the dog and why we have to clean up after him.

Workshop Sustainable EVENT

In the fun workshop, we will create safe toys for puppies and kittens from used textiles.

While creating, we will acquire new knowledge in the field of animal protection. The debate will be about what is a safe toy for our pet, how much exercise it needs, what kind of food is suitable for it. We will be especially interested in how to take care of a pet during these hot summer days. When do we walk it? When must a dog be on a leash? What do we do if we see an animal in an overheated car in the parking lot? We also researched and practically tested some techniques and procedures for reusing used clothes: braiding, embroidery, hand sewing, sewing with a sewing machine, tailoring, cutting out cuts, etc.
