At the end of 2024, the Scientific Council of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (KIS) presented awards for achievements in scientific and research work. The following colleagues received recognition:

Award for contributions to the visibility of KIS in the Slovenian and international arena:

• Barbara Zagorc: for the implementation of a system for calculating the standard income of agricultural holdings.

Award for significant developmental and research achievements:

• Dr. Nika Cvelbar Weber: for establishing the Berry Center and for her body of scientific and popular publications.

Award for significant scientific-research achievements by young researchers:

• Eva Plestenjak: for scientific articles prepared within her doctoral dissertation.

• Primož Žigon: for outstanding scientific achievements in research on protein complexes from edible mushrooms as a sustainable protection method for potatoes against plant pests.

• Dr. Klavdija Poklukar Žnidaršič: for the scientific article "A meta-analysis of genetic and phenotypic diversity of European local pig breeds reveals genomic regions associated with breed differentiation for production traits", published in the journal Genetics Selection Evolution.
